“ 在英ですが、休暇は充電でもあるんです。単に怠けてる時間ではありません。有給を目一杯使って楽しいホリデーを過ごすことで、復帰後の仕事に打ち込めるのです。定時退社も同じこと。夕方、家族や友人とくつろぐ時間をたっぷり持つことで、翌日もまた元気に働ける。プライベートが充実していないと、心身ともにパフォーマンスが落ちます。そしてそういう考え方が、上から下まで、社会全体に等しく共有されてる気がします。私も日本にいたときは、ネジをギリギリと巻けるところまで巻き上げて働くのが当然のように感じていました。でもこっちに来て、夫や友人、同僚たちの働き方、取引先の動き等々を日々観察しているうちに、仕事観が根本的に変わってしまいました。もう元に戻れそうにありません。
